The analog MUX isn’t equivalent to a short. While R1 reads 0. It seems like it should just be similar to an open wire between the two.
Here is a link to the datasheet. Please let me know if something about this seems incorrect or is I just flat out misinterpreted the use of this chip.
Upon reading the data sheet this chip seems straight forward, but I’m having dwtasheet hardest time hooking up the CD I dont know why, maybe it fried? The control signals will be inverted from the base input to the collector output connection.
This resistance adds to the 1 k external resistance and causes the voltage drop you saw. So dahasheet 12v Vdd you may need about a 9v minimum. Your input logic to A,B should use the V1 voltage 12v for a high, not 5v. Dave Guenther 1 For example, it shows that with Vdd at 10v you need at least 7v for a high.
